Andrea Hayes is a textile artist based in Co.Tyrone,N.Ireland who uses a unique combination of textiles, painting and metal elements in her work.
Artworks include a range of framed and mounted textile pieces which are all individually made by hand. Inspiration is taken from natural elements such as flowers, landscapes and trees. The subtle colourways, intricate stitching and metallic highlights of copper have become a recognisable feature in Andrea's work.
Andrea has developed a contrasting range of larger scale mixed media artworks in which her textile and painting skills have been applied onto an aluminium base.The processes and techniques used have been developed throughout Andreas' career, and her unique approach has produced this signature style. These pieces are showcased in selected exhibitions and have been completed for private commissions.
