Antrim Artillery 1854-1919 Exhibition

02 August - 04 October
The Antrim Artillery Militia, later the Antrim Royal Garrison Artillery, was part of the fabric of Carrickfergus for over sixty years. Raised to provide coastal defence, and later to serve overseas, the regiment was responsible for manning the forts in Belfast Lough at Kilroot and Greypoint and also for manning the coastal defences at Lough Swilly.

Using unique archive material held by the museum, the exhibition will look at the captivating history of the militia unit and the people who served in it.

Alongside this exhibition will be a remarkable collection of World War One postcards giving a fascinating opportunity to reflect on public attitudes to the conflict.
