Aspects Festival - A Celebration of Irish Writing

18 September - 25 September
Aspects has a long tradition of embracing writing in all its forms. Now in its 25th year, Ards and North Down Borough Council is delighted to announce an extra special anniversary programme that celebrates the best of Irish writing - a hallmark of the festival since it began. It takes place in various venues in Bangor from 18-25 September.

A standout highlight of this year's programme is 'Lit Up Inside' with Van Morrison, who will be performing and talking about his song writing and poetry taking place on the 21 September at the Culloden Hotel - with some very special guests.
The Programme Includes

Aspects welcomes best-selling women's fiction writer, Sinead Moriarty. A new book by her is always eagerly awaited. She will be reading and discussing her latest novel 'The Way We Were' - a well-deserved winner in the 2015 Irish Book Awards. For more information please visit the Aspects Festival website.

By turns poignant and hilarious, 'Red Noise' with comedian Owen O'Neill (also actor, writer and poet) is the most unexpected of performances and a highlight of this year's Aspects programme. Join him, festival veteran Colin Bateman and others for 'A Writer's Guide to Humour'. For more information please visit the Aspects Festival website.

Books have their place in health and healing and Aspects Festival is pleased to present Tara West talking about her latest book 'Happy Dark' a brilliantly written memoir which tells about her battle with depression and how she learned to cope with the disease. For more information please visit the Aspects Festival website.

Experienced facilitator Ann Bracken helps aspiring writers address blocks to creativity using mindfulness and CBT techniques as part of Aspects 'Resource for Writers' day. For more information please visit the Aspects Festival website.
