B/E Aerospace GI Jive Festival

19 July - 26 July
Step back in time to the nostalgic sights, sounds, smells and music of the 1940s at our GI Jive Festival. We are commemorating the massive contribution of Greencastle Aerodrome, the second largest American Base in the UK. During which the sights and sounds of GIs training for D Day flew planes and practiced their target skills. The event will include American GIs re-enactments, 1940s rationing, and of course the very evocative music of the jitter bug and jive. There will be planes, tanks, jeeps, vintage cars, children’s entertainment, tea dance and fashion from the period, a fly by, fun fayre, stalls and lots more.
GI Jive is running as part of the annual Kingdom of Mourne Festival.
