Ballycastle Food Tours

North Coast Walking Tours host a three hour, 5 stop food tour of Ballycastle focusing on the town’s varied cultural history, local, award winning food producers and amazing community spirit.

Ballycastle is at the heart of the Causeway Coast and Glens - hear how it has played a central part in the history of the Ulster-Scots and Irish clans for over a thousand years; is surrounded by geological and maritime wonders which allowed us to trade to great renown, far and wide, for over 10,000 years and what, today, makes the town and its people so special that it won The Sunday Times’ Best Place to Live in Northern Ireland (2016).

Starting with a breakfast stack of soda bread, potato bread, black pudding, scrambled eggs and roasted cherry tomatoes in The Bay Cafe, followed by lunch of seafood chowder and Guinness wheaten in The Central Wine Bar, supper of special of the day in O'Connor's pub washed down by Rathlin Red Ale and finished with mouth-watering patisserie in Ursa Minor Bakehouse. We either have kelp and Parmesan scones in Thyme and Co or scout round the local Artisan Food Market tasting even more locally produced goodness. Either way, you are guaranteed to be so full of facts, folklore, fabulous food and great fun that you will make a promise yourself to move here, just as soon as you can!
