The Cathedral is open to visitors from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm on weekdays and for a short period before and after services on Sundays. The Cathedral contains mosaics designed by Sir Charles Nicholson and executed by Gertrude and Margaret Martin. It has the largest Celtic Cross in Ireland, and mosaics and stained glass on Celtic themes.

Access to the Cathedral is available to the physically challenged. Both the exterior and interior is equipped with ramps. There is a rest room facility and a lift to the lower floor of the Cathedral Centre. There is also access to the sanctuary which enables full participation in the Eucharist. Designated seating can easily be removed to enable wheelchair users to sit with their friends in the congregation.

Groups are most welcome to visit the Cathedral. Arrangements for guided tours should be made well in advance with the Cathedral Office. Every effort will be made to accommodate groups who wish to visit outside the normal hours. Prayer walks of the Cathedral are also available. These can be self-conducted using the booklets available or under the guidance of Cathedral volunteers or clergy. Belfast Cathedral aims to be a centre of excellence in Anglican Choral Music. The Cathedral Choir sings two services every Sunday, and high days and holy days throughout the churches’ year. The repertoire of the choir is wide and varied and includes specially commissioned works by composers such as John Rutter and John Joubert. Christmas and Summer concerts are also part of the programme.
