Belfast City Bike Tours: Giro d'Italia Bike Tours and Rental

On 9 May the Grande Partanza or "Big Start" of the Giro d'Italia Cycle Race will be in Belfast.

Involving over 200 of the world's top professional cyclists and watched by over 800 million people worldwide, the 3-week race's Day 1 Time Trial loops from Belfast's historic Titanic Dock out and around the seat of Government at Stormont in the East of the City.

On Giro Race Day 2 the riders complete a challenging 220km route setting out from Belfast and heading North to one of the most spectacular coastlines in Ireland returning to Belfast in preparation for Race Day 3 riding from the ecclesiastical capital of Armagh, south to Dublin. Tour 1 - Giro d'Italia14 Time Trial Tour - 3hrs/20km approx. £25pp

This guided tour takes in Belfast's Cathedral and Titanic Quarters before heading east along a beautiful section of the Belfast to Comber Greenway, part of the National Cycle Network, on the track of the former Belfast and County Down Railway, before joining the Giro TT loop around the Stormont Estate and heading back into Belfast. This tour can be customised to meet your cycling requirements and offers plenty of sightseeing and refreshments stops.

Setting out from our headquarters at the Linen House, 18-20 Kent Street Belfast BT1 2JA - the tour lasts about 3 hours and costs £25 per person.

Tour 2 - Giro d'Italia14 Causeway Coast Tour - 2 days/150km approx. £95pp

This self guided tour consists of 2 days cycling on the Giro Race Day 2 Causeway Coastal Route with an overnight bed and breakfast stop at Cushendall close to the halfway stage on the beautiful Antrim Coast Road.

You pick up your bikes in Belfast and travel by train* to join the Giro Race Route at Ballymoney. You then cycle to the spectacular Causeway Coast passing close to Dunluce Castle, the World Heritage site at the Giants Causeway, the Game of Thrones film setting at Ballintoy harbour, the daring Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, the majestic Fair Head looking across to Rathlin and Scotland from Ballycastle returning to Belfast through the stunning Glens of Antrim past the historic castle at Carrickfergus.

This is one of the most beautiful cycle routes in the world involving about 75km/45 miles of fun cycling each day - mileage which can be shortened or extended to meet your expectations. The tour costs £95 per person which includes bike rental, mechanical back-up, route maps and bed and breakfast accommodation. We can provide panniers or transport your luggage for an additional cost.
