Business Visitor Testimonials
As more and more business visitors hear of Northern Ireland as a business destination, the region has proven itself over and over as a great all-rounder for business visitors and their friends and families. With significantly developed infrastructure, luxury hotels and top-class facilities, along with breathtaking surroundings of the Northern Irish countryside and the natural warmth and hospitality of our people Northern Ireland gets the job done, but with a style and character of its very own!
Don't take our word for it though, below are a selection of testimonials from professional events organisers who have held events in Northern Ireland, including the recent Headmasters/Headmistresses Conference (HMC) 2012 held in Hastings Europa Hotel.
Ian Power, Membership Secretary, HMC 2012
"Now that the dust has settled on the conference and we have all returned to our various parts of the UK. I wanted to say a huge thank you again for all your help with the event. It was a fantastic conference: a great venue, brilliant staff and excellent food.
To top it all we received more media coverage than ever before and an overwhelming 'feel-good' factor. We shall certainly return to Belfast, sooner rather than later."
And the rest...
Siobhan O'Hare, Director, Keynote PCO, 2010
"[Expo] was very informative and extremely educational, particularly how many larger venues Belfast has to offer and the suppliers were unfailingly enthusiastic about their product which makes it so attractive to work in a destination..."
Ray Titcombe, Technical Director, COMMON Europe, 2010
"You have a simply wonderful destination product and the service providers that I met were totally committed to ensuring that every need would be fulfilled. I look forward with confidence to bringing our annual event to Northern Ireland"
Miriam Roemers, Public Relations Manager, European Association of Public Banks, 2010
"It was for me a first encounter with Ireland and a great positive experience, kind people, professional conference organisers, splendid venues and scenery. A big thank you to you all for this great discovery!"
Jonathan Stewart, British Council, British Council 75th Anniversary Lecture 2010
“It was great to work with [DVCB] in the lead up to the event. Your help in choosing the venue, local logistics, recommendations on guests and your expert local knowledge and connections ensured that the event was a great success... We had tremendous support from DVCB and all the venues we worked with in Derry such as the Playhouse, Nerve centre, Café Mondo and City Hotel, which all ensured that the conclusion of the British Council’s 75th year was a great success. We would have no hesitation in choosing Derry in the future for another high profile event and would certainly work again with DVCB.”
Bruce Schon, Event Planner, World Forum Foundation 2009
Letter to the Europa Hotel: "...outstanding service and personal attention provided by the management and staff of the Europa Hotel during the 2009 World Forum on Early Care and Education... Never have I experienced the team effort put forth by the Europa to ensure every detail was handled, very expectation exceeded, every attendee honoured and every request met with an action and a smile..."
Rachelle Valladares, Helmsbriscoe, 2009
"My brief visit to Derry really opened my eyes to a great MICE destination. A small but history packed city that is easy to get to, offers a wide variety of venues and is less expensive than the majority of UK cities - offering great value for money. Derry is a real gem, packed with options for meetings of every size, shape and feel."
Professor Ulrich Nehmzow, University of Ulster, 2009
Letter to the Derry Visitor and Convention Bureau: "Thank you once again for the support you have given us in organising the 10th Anniversary TAROS Robotics Conference here at the Magee campus... we have attracted delegates from 11 countries worldwide... from New Zealand and Brazil! Your help in organising the conference was invaluable to us... Our delegates thoroughly enjoyed their time..."
Lynn Graham, BAMRR Event Organiser 10th - 12th October 2008
Our conference was a great success both professionally and socially. The policy board thought the venue and catering were excellent, and the mayoral reception was a real treat. We received an excellent tour of the guildhall and as for the other social events - any one who joined the cruise thoroughly enjoyed it and the walking tour was extremely well received also. Everyone thought the hospitality was excellent!
Judy Jackson, Maritz Travel, St. Louis, 2007
“Northern Ireland’s infrastructure is now ready for business and offers wonderful options, thus
opening up the whole island of Ireland to our market segment”
Gloria Bredner, Event Solutions, London
“Looking forward to bringing groups back to such an unspoilt destination”
Cynthia Richards, Event Spectrum, Toronto
“The warmth and hospitality of all the hosts was amazing”
Ardith Freethy, Communiqué, Toronto
“It’s new and interesting!”
Association of Northern Ireland Educational Library Boards
The ANIELB Annual Conference held on 16/17 October 2008 in the Millennium Forum was excellent. As you are aware the City Hotel was used for accommodation and the Gala Dinner on the Thursday night. Staff in both venues were more than professional in their skills and expertise and were an absolute pleasure to work with. As one of the main organisers of the Conference they made my job a lot easier as nothing was too much bother for staff. Overall, an excellent conference - beautifully linked with a range of musical contributions and such a rich tradition!
