Castle Island Charity Swim (CICS)

10 August
One Sunday 10th August the Castle Island Charity Swim & Family fun morning will take place at the Lakeland Forum. The swim traditionally took place each year with the support of the Blake family. It was a great honour last year that the local volunteer crew of Enniskillen RNLI had the opportunity to revive the swim in association with a number of local main sponsors, Blakes the Hollow, Western Cars & The Print Factory.

The swim is approximately 750m long and is open to swimmers of all ages. Swimmers are invited individually or in small groups such as youth clubs, sports clubs or simply groups of friends. The emphasis for this swim is for everyone to have fun and for that reason, if required, swimmers may complete the swim in a well fitted life jacket or buoyancy aid but must be confident that they can complete the distance.

Local charity, the RNLI, who have been providing an invaluable service on our lakes now for over ten years will be present on the day and will provide safety cover for the event as well as members of the crew taking part in the swim.

Registration for the swim will take place at 12.00 noon on the morning of the event followed by a short safety briefing. For those family members not taking part in the swim there will be a small family fun morning onshore including bouncy castles, face painting & ice cream stand.

In additional this year we are delighted to announce that we will be running Enniskillen's first duck race with some marvellous prizes for the first three ducks over the line. Each swimmer will receive a free entry into the duck race as well as the ducks being on general sale for only £5.00. The duck race will take place on completion of the main swim.
