The Sperrins area is one of the largest uplands in Ireland. The hills are characteristically rounded with open heatherclad slopes that provide the visitor with a sense of space and solitude.
The Central Sperrins Way begins and ends at Barnes Gap near the village of Plumbridge, within the Sperrins Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
The gentle contours of these hills are threaded by small country roads and tracks offering walkers an excellent opportunity to experience a landscape shaped by geological processes and rich in flora and fauna. Take time out to meet and talk to the locals in the quiet villages or on one of the hill farms dotted throughout the countryside.
