Cinemagic Film and Television Festival

The annual Cinemagic Film and Television Festival programme returns with a feast of film from 7 - 30 October, jam-packed with over 200 films and diverse creative opportunities to inspire and motivate young people.

Special events include a spotlight on master storyteller Hans Christian Andersen with film screenings of The Little Mermaid, and Thumbelina.

The Junior Talent Lab workshops will see the creative talents behind shows including Horrid Henry, Shaun the Sheep and Bob the Builder travel to Belfast.

The Ulster Museum will be home to a special Festival Pyjama Party and Teddy Bear Picnic, while the No Alibis book store will host Tales at Twilight, a week long evening showcase of book-to-film adaptations introduced by local authors Jan Carson, Sheena Wilkinson and Kelly McCaughrain.

The festival will showcase the films of Aardman Animation and the Jim Henson Company as well as celebrate 60 years of Albert Lamorisse's cinema classic, The Red Balloon.

Animated fun for tiny tots includes the book-to-film adaptation, Molly Monster and activity screenings such as the Academy Award winning interpretation of Prokofiev's class tale, Peter and The Wolf.

Young filmmakers will also be celebrated through showcases of new and upcoming film talent from across the UK and Republic of Ireland.

The annual Cinemagic Mark Kermode Film Night returns for its twelfth year with Mark's film pick being the Forbidden Planet.

On presentation of a valid Translink ylink pass, customers will receive 25% off the cinema ticket price for film screenings. Please note this is only valid for ticket purchases on site on the day of the event and not for pre-booked online ticket sales. Junior Talent Lab events and Mark Kermode Film night are not eligible for this offer.
