Cornmill Quay is situated in Annalong Village, which has a strong tradition of Stonework and Smuggling. Its name translates to mean 'The ford of the ships'. The village is set against a magnificent panorama of the Mourne Mountains. The accommodation overlooks the old fishing harbour with its recently completed marina and the restored corn mill with its working water wheel. An ideal setting in which to explore the varied and unspoilt coastline and the scenic Mourne Mountains.

A Self-guided walking holiday of 2 days and 3 nights in the Mourne Mountains. Suitable for walkers on a budget and ideal for groups of up to 19 people. Accommodation: Cornmill Quay Cottages, the Marine Park, Annalong, Co. Down Walking Route: Discover the breathtaking activity of Hill Walking in the tranquil Mourne Mountains in Northern Ireland. Uniquely for a mountain range, most of the summits are grouped together in an area only seven miles broad. Both the Mournes northern boundary at Newcastle and southern at Rostrevor are distinguished by steep slopes which dominate the coast. The mountain area remains uninhabited and without roads preserving the quality of uspoiled wilderness. Miles of winding paths, many of them old quarry tracks, lead high through the hills and make it possible to discover and enjoy their spectacular scenery. There are a wide variety of walks for people of all abilities and interests, within the AONB. If you enjoy a short stroll with the family, walks are available at the Forest Parks, Silent Valley, Murlough Nature Reserve, the coastal path at Bloody Bridge, or along the beach at Newcastle, Cranfield or Warrenpoint.
