Portstewart, the quieter cousin of Portrush, boasts the wonderful 3 mile strand. There is no shortage of golf either, with 3 eighteen hole golf courses to test all levels of ability. There are plenty of restaurants and pubs to satisfy even the most discerning palate. Portrush, further west, the north’s premier cold water resort, has one of the world’s top links at Royal Portrush, together with Waterworld and the Dunluce Centre. Portballintrae west, is a pretty harbour village, noted for salmon and sea angling and featuring the excellent Bayview Hotel. Bushmills, inland by 2 miles is the home of the Old Bushmills since 1608 and the gateway to the world heritage Giant’s Causeway. Coleraine on the river Bann is a prosperous market and university town, with theatre and marina, it is also one of the shopping mecca’s in the north west with some long established and outstanding fashion houses.
