The business was set up in 2008. Our idea is to supply local people and businesses with top quality, dry aged organic beef, at an affordable price and with unique traceability. The other important area to address was the carbon footprint of beef, which is kept to a minimum at Culmore. The beef is slaughtered at an abbatoir less than ten miles from the farm, butchered less than half a mile from this and sold from the farm.
Our produce is a complete range of organic beef, from the widely sought after tender fillet steaks, to our mince products and succulent lean burgers, vegetable roll and sausages. Our animals are born and reared on farm to the high welfare standards of the Soil Association. Freedom to roam and graze when the weather conditions permit and comfortable straw bedded pens in winter mean a stress free life style for the animals. Animals kept in such an extensive grazing system grow at a slower rate than those in an intensive system and have access to many wild flower and herb species not found in intensive systems. This culminates in a more flavoursome beef product for the consumer.
