Discovery Farm

Stroll back in time and uncover a way of life on the farms of 100 years ago as you explore a number of farmhouses and farm-related buildings. From Donegal to the Mourne Mountains explore their daily tasks, meet the people who lived on the land and looked after the animals. There was always plenty for everyone to do – and it’s still the same today!

Roll up your sleeves to help feed the hens as they wander around the yard, meet the donkeys as they greet you at the fence or have a taste of what’s cooking in the farmhouse kitchen. Try your hand at turnip-cutting, watch traditional farm machinery in action or have a go at rope making. From country cooking to butter making, sheep shearing to horse grooming, Discovery Farm will offers visitors an unrivalled, authentic experience of country living from 100 years ago. Each reflects traditional methods of farming, ranging from small scale to commercial, in diverse landscapes which have been recreated to represent the areas in which they were originally located.
