Exciting new sporting tourism initiative set for Fermanagh in 2013

As Northern Ireland prepares to host the World Police and Fire Games in August 2013. County Fermanagh has seized the opportunity to create an innovative and inspiring initiative to promote the county, its beautiful landscape and many tourist attractions to the visiting competitors competitors.

The 'Blue Light Challenge' is Fermanagh's latest sporting tourism initiative, organised by the emergency services for the emergency services. It will begin on Sunday, 11 August 2013, just as the WPFG closes and it is hoped this will encourage visiting competitors to extend their stay by visiting the Lakeland County to compete in the Challenge.

There are three different competitions, each of which will promote various aspects of the county. The competitions include:

• The Blue Light Golf Challenge
• The Blue Light Fishing Challenge
• And the 'Blue Light Challenge' a Multi-disciplinary athletics event
