Arrive at the historic Londonderry Arms Hotel, Carnlough on Monday afternoon, settle in and enjoy dinner and a relaxing evening by the fire before turning in for a good night’s sleep to ensure you are fit and ready for an invigorating days walking on Tuesday.

Day 1

Glenarm Glen
Distance: Approx 6 to7 miles
Grade: Moderate
Time: 4- 4½-hours


Set off the next morning following a hearty breakfast to discover Glenarm Glen enjoying the beautiful countryside, wildlife and panoramic views both up and down the glen on this moderately challenging walk. On return to the hotel you will receive warm refreshments before having a rest before dinner.

Day 2

Glencloy Glen
Distance: Approx 6 -7 miles
Grade: Moderate
Time: 4-4½ hours


Following breakfast on Wednesday set out to discover Glencloy, the Cranny Falls and the old Peat Factory from the early 1900’s. Enjoy the wonderful scenery, spectacular views and weather permitting even see the Scottish coastline. On return to the hotel enjoy a warm late lunch and head for home.

A packed lunch will be provided each day. The terrain may be uneven, hilly and wet in parts, though the beautiful views more than make up for it! Please bring your own waterproofs, warm clothing, rucksack, walking boots or sturdy waterproof footwear (no trainers).

Cowper Lynas is a retired PE teacher, qualified in mountaineering and first aid with over 30 years experience in leading, instructing and assessing groups of both young people and adults, in a variety of areas.
