Good Friday's Spring Street Carnival and Family Day

Come to Conway Square for fantastic family fun afternoon from 12noon to 5pm. At 3pm Newtownards will showcase a super carnival parade celebrating springtime. The parade will travel to Bangor on Easter Monday and will delight and amaze all who see it. Make sure you don't miss out!

The town will be animated from 12.30pm as Conway Square will hold performances by street theatre artists who are sure to entertain all.

Bang On! are a junk percussion duo who create funky beats and rhythmic treats using a huge homemade drum kit which is made from recycled objects. A renowned equilibrist, Bernie Bennett will team up with expert BMX rider Ayrton Jack in this fast moving spectacular tightrope and BMX Bike Show.

The fun is free and the street entertainment programme will fill the afternoon until 5pm.

Highlight of the day will include the Spring Street Carnival, specially created to celebrate spring in the borough. See it first in Newtownards, the organisers are sure you will love it so much that you will want to see it again in Bangor on Easter Monday. The Street Carnival will start at 3pm and the route will begin in Regent Street, down Francis Street, to Castle Place, continuing to High Street and returning to Regent Street via Gibson's lane.

Event location: Newtownards Town Centre and Conway Square, BT23 4NP.
