Happy Days Enniskillen International Beckett Festival is a major, annual, multi-arts festival celebrating Irish Nobel prize writer Samuel Beckett, who attended Portora Royal School in Enniskillen from 1920 - 1923.

This year, Happy Days – Enniskillen International Beckett Festival has new and extended dates: JULY 31 - AUGUST 10 2014.

The Ardhowen Theatre is hosting two major international theatre events this August as part of the Festival.

EN ATTENDANT GODOT (Waiting for Godot)

A colourful, beautifully choreographed and movingly performed ‘Waiting For Godot’ from one of France’s most exciting theatre troupes steeped in the clown and cabaret tradition. Beckett wrote his great play in French first and then translated it into English.

World premiered at the Edinburgh International Festival, Happy Days presents the third and last section of this work which is inspired by Samuel Beckett’s late prose text Worstward Ho and its most famous line: ‘Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better’.

This will be the first presentation in Ireland of Heiner Goebbels’ music-theatre, and the last ever presentation of this production. Don’t miss out.
