History and Legacy of the International Brigades

The International Brigades were formed in 1936 during the Spanish Civil War to provide support for the army of the Republic. The spirit of the Brigades far exceeded their numbers, and the example of their sacrifice and dedication to the cause proved vital to the war effort.

Their reputation became legend, and today their story remains one of the most enthralling in all of modern history. This lecture explores the history and legacy of a singular historical phenomenon.
