Islander Festival at Fermanagh

A brand new four day Festival in the tranquil setting of the Upper Lough Erne Region in County Fermanagh that brings together musicians, artists, gourmet food and traditional craft to celebrate the Life of Upper Lough Erne Islands, stunning Castles and historic sites around the Lough will be the backdrop for the Entertainment as well as ancient traditions and local produce that will tell the story of a place steeped in history.

The festival is designed to enhance the awareness of our rich history, engage with our cultural and natural heritage, and enthral our visitors at each unique venue. 2nd May - Festival Opening - Moat Ring, Lisnaskea
Hosted at one of Fermanagh’s oldest Heritage sites and the inauguration place of the Maguire Chieftains, the official Islander Festival launch will feature homegrown talent alongside stunning views across the county. This is a free event, open to all, with a small number of tickets available on a first come, first-served basis.

3rd May - Duke Special - Belle Isle Castle
Sample some of the best of Ireland’s music and venues in one fell swoop in the beautiful setting of Belle Isle Estate’s Grand Hall and Drawing Room. Duke Special is an artist who needs little introduction – having garnered critical acclaim across the UK and beyond for many years, the Vaudevillian songsmith is set to fit right in alongside the intimate yet grand setting of Belle-Isle’s Grand Hall. Overnight accommodation will also be available within the Castle for the evening and can be booked at a special discounted rate here at the festival website.

3rd May - Campfire Sessions - Trannish Island Bothy
Not to be missed this laid back Campfire Session at the Trannish Island Bothy with artists from across the festival will be the perfect remedy to the busy working week. Why not bring along an Instrument and join in. Camping is available and some of the very best Fermanagh flavors will be on offer from the barbeque.

3rd May - Folk n Food - Belle Isle Estate
This family friendly event will have plenty to keep the kids entertained while the adults enjoy the delights of some of the best food produce Northern Ireland has to offer. The Emerald Armada and friends will be providing their rousing, energetic musical mix to the days event.

4th May - Classical at Crom- Fermanagh Choral Society, Crom West Wing
Featuring the homegrown talents of the Fermanagh Choral Society and special guests, this Sunday evening event sees another of the county’s finest venues brought into play alongside the ethereal sounds of the renowned choral group who have put together a unique programme especially for Islander Festival.

4th May - Jazz and Blues in the garden - Crom Estate
Bring along a picnic and rug as you join us for a relaxing afternoon at Crom Estate and hear the southing sounds of The McPhillimy Jazz Quartet.

4th May - Hooley in the Hall - Sons of Caliber - Share Auditorium
Share Discovery Village hosts the Hooley in the Hall with a fantastic line up including ‘Sons of Caliber, Josh Burnside, Midnight Graffiti, Ego the Jackal’ plus more special guests to be announced. Plenty of foot stomping music to keep young and old alike entertained.

4th May - Live on the Lough - Share Inishcruiser
Weaving through the intricate maze of islands on Sunday, the Share Inishcruiser will depart for a two hour cruise exploring the lesser known and most beautiful parts of Lough Erne with the while listening to local musicians and the Fermanagh Writers who will recite stories and poems of the Islands and Lough with a few tall tales thrown in for good measure.

5th May - Mayday at the Market - Cornmarket, Lisnaskea
May Day at the Market will see The Fair Ladies running a specialist craft fair in the historic Cornmarket yard with local musicians
