Kirkistown Motor Racing Circuit

Kirkistown is the only RAC approved motor racing circuit in Northern Ireland, opened by the 500 Motor Racing Club of Ireland in 1951. Based on the runways and taxiways of a disused war time airfield it hosts a greast variety of motor sport competitions including motorcycle, rallycross, kart and car racing. The circuit is 1.6 miles long and has been brought up to full safety standards. Extensive spectator facilities have been added recently.
It is the venue for many major events on motorbikes, cars and karts and draws large numbers of spectators. Details of forthcoming events are available from the tourist office. During the year the circuit hosts car races on the last Saturday of each month from March to September, car rallies in January & February and motorcycle races in April, May June, July & September. Kart races take place throughout the year.
