Last chance to nominate your favourite family event or visitor attraction of the year

2012 promises to be one of the greatest ever in terms of celebration and events for Northern Ireland. Not only will this year bring the Titanic Belfast Festival in April and the opening of the new visitor centre at the Giant's Causeway in September but 2012 will also see the inaugural Ni4kids Family Awards take place on Friday 11 May at the stunning new Titanic Belfast building.

Nadia Duncan, Commercial Manager for Ni4kids Magazine said of the inspiration behind the awards, “For over 10 years now we have been putting families first by publishing a magazine and website dedicated to families with younger children in Northern Ireland. The popularity of our magazine has grown to the extent that we are now distributing over 50,000 copies per monthly issue to families across the province. For 2012 we have created a new event which aims to recognise and celebrate the organisations and individuals across Northern Ireland who also put families first and that includes the important achievement award of ‘Family Event and Visitor Attraction of the Year.’

There are two categories in the Family Visitor Attraction category, large and small to give an opportunity to the amazing smaller ventures such as independent petting farms and craft workshop venues. The small family visitor attraction of the year category is being supported by the 2012 NITB campaign as part the 2012 celebrations in Northern Ireland.

This is a great opportunity to receive some well deserved recognition and we want venues across Northern Ireland to encourage their customers to nominate them for these awards. The winners will be joining us on 11 May at Titanic Belfast to pick up their trophy at a fantastic family friendly event and awards ceremony.
