Lough Cowey

The fishery is open all year round. It is heavily stocked on a regular basis and has good quality overwintered fish available in early spring. Fish are taken by "matching the hatch". Bags of large fish are frequent with buzzers, streamers and lures being amongst the most popular flies.

Note:
Under an agreement with the Department, Ards District Fly Fishing Club exercises the fishing rights on Lough Cowey. Ten day tickets are available daily, free of charge, to holders of DCAL Adult or Juvenile Game Season Permits. These may be obtained from the fishery office on site telephone: Portaferry (028) 4272 8946. DCAL permit holders fishing on a day ticket are permitted to retain one fish free of charge.
