Marble Arch Caves, Florence Court, Co.Fermanagh
Take a 25 minute car journey from Enniskillen, Co.Fermanagh and you will find the Marble Arch Caves and Visitor Centre located in Florence Court. Set in the limestone foothills of Cuilcagh Mountain, visitors can take guided tours through the Marble Arch Caves and Geopark. Sharing a border with Cavan, in the Republic of Ireland, this is the first International Geopark of its kind.
Your journey begins with a short walk through ancient ash woodland, before continuing on an underground boat journey through the subterranean river. On this journey you will marvel at the naturally occurring cave formations as well as the stalactites that hang from the ceiling, and the stalagmites that rise from the floor. Marble Arch Caves also allows visitors the chance to explore the natural underground world of rivers, fascinating waterfalls, winding passages and towering chambers. Highlights of the tour include Porridge Pot, Moses Walk and Guardian Angel. The tour lasts for approximately 75 minutes and is suitable for all ages with average fitness levels. Warm clothing and appropriate footwear is recommended as temperatures underground can drop quite dramatically, even in the summer months.
