Art Exhibition Details:
Marie will be exhibiting her latest work in her solo exhibition at the Burnavon Arts & Cultural Centre, Cookstown . The exhibition entitled “Rural Reflections” opens on Saturday 28th November 2009- Saturday 2nd January 2010.Everyone is welcome .
Marie has put together a collection of paintings depicting the charm and character of rural Ireland, its people, characters and way of life that has slowly elapsed .With paintings such as “ Mowing The Meadow” “Tying Down The Ruck” and “Down To Earth” Marie captures in oils the beauty that epitomizes the Irish countryside.
About the Artist:
Born in Pomeroy Co. Tyrone, Marie choose to develop her early passion for art further by taking a foundation course in Art and Design at the University of Ulster, Belfast and subsequently graduated with an honours degree.
Marie works from her studio in Co. Tyrone and her paintings are inspired by her roots, growing up on a farm in Ireland, at a time when farming involved all the family and everyone lent a helping hand.
Working in oil on canvas, she depicts Irish farming scenes, both present and of bygone days. Marie has had a number of solo and joint exhibitions locally and throughout the province. She has carried out commissioned work for markets at home and abroad and has
