Mother's Day Events

Its time to get pampered, indulge and have fun for all the mums on Mother's Day weekend with a range of exciting events taking place across Northern Ireland. Whether your mum is an outdoor enthusisast,  an opera lover or likes the traditional tea party you will be spoilt for choice for event ideas.

Here are just a few suggestions of what's going on.  There are plenty of things that she'll love.

Places To Visit

Ava Antique Fair, Newcastle

Ava Fairs will be holding their Antiques Fair in Slieve Donard Resort & Spa on Sunday 15th March. Come along and see Antiques, Vintage, China, Porcelain, Silver and Curios in stunning surroundings.

Voices of Ireland, Downpatrick

The Cathedral welcomes John Anderson and the Voices of Ireland who will be giving a recital in honour of our national Saint. It is a lovely blend of sacred and secular music, ranging from popular songs of today to some of the most beautiful and best loved Irish melodies ever written.

The Linley Hamilton Quintet, Lisburn

Now in their fourth year, the Linley Hamilton Quintet are regulars on the Irish and UK festival scene. The Quintet features Dominic Mullan (drums), Damian Evans (bass), Johnny Taylor (piano) and Julien Colarossi (guitar).

Metropolitan Opera: La Donna De Lago, Newtownabbey

Bel canto superstars Joyce DiDonato and Juan Diego Flórez join forces again for this Rossini showcase of vocal virtuosity, set in the medieval Scottish highlands and based on a much-loved novel by Sir Walter Scott.

Miniature Railway Train Rides at Drumawhey Junction, Donaghadee

All aboard the Drumawhey Express! Drumawhey Miniature Railway is run by volunteers who have reconstructed a wonderful setting complete with covered station platform, station building, ticket office, signal cabin, tunnel, cuttings and a level crossing. The train ride is 1.5km long and takes around 15 minutes, with a choice of routes.

MAC Parish Hall Ceili, Belfast

Live music, Ceili caller to help everyone with the moves and of course the return of the 'lovely boys' competition.

Come along, drink tea and eat some sandwiches. If tea isn't your thing, the fully licensed bar will be open and well stocked.

Arco String Quartet, Armagh

As part of Armagh's St Patrick's Day Festival, the Arco String Quartet will perform in the beautiful Primate's Chapel, Armagh.

Spring Walking Festival, Legnabrocky, Enniskillen
