Blakes celebrates its 125th anniversary

Much-loved Enniskillen bar celebrates 125th anniversary

One of the most famous pubs in Ireland is celebrating 125 years in business.

Blake's of 'The Hollow', located in the centre of Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, has proudly served visitors and locals alike since 1887. The Victorian bar has remained untouched since then.

In recent years two restaurants - Café Merlot and Restaurant Number 6 - as well as The Atrium Bar and 'Level Seven' have been added.

To celebrate the bar's 125th birthday, Blakes are staging 'The Good Old Days' in the style of the programme presented by the inimitable Leonard Sachs which ran from 1953 to 1983. This will take place on Sunday 19th August 2012.

The evening will include 'sing-along' show songs performed by The Enniskillen Lights Operatic Singers accompanied by The Bob Quick Orchestra, as well as a unique photographic opportunity at 7.30pm outside 'The Hollow' where they will endeavour to re-create an 1887 Church Street scene with an original Victorian horse drawn carriage.
