Arts Council

EHOD is once again proud to welcome back annual partner, the Arts Council of Northern Ireland. As a special treat for this year’s EHOD, not only will the Arts Council be inviting EHOD2013 visitors to come and tour their Headquarters at MacNeice House, but they will also be holding a special celebration of the continued influence of the work of monumental poet, Louis MacNeice, on this year of the 50th Anniversary of his passing.

Aptly, both events on the Saturday and Sunday of the EHOD Weekend will be held at the Art Council’s Headquarters of MacNeice House, where the father of this Belfast-born poet lived when he was the Church of Ireland Bishop of County Down, Connor and Dromore. Louis MacNeice’s famous poem ‘Snow’ was written in one of the ground floor rooms.

Visitors will also be able to tour the building, and view recent art works from the Arts Council Collection with Head of Visual Arts, Dr Suzanne Lyle at 10am, 12pm and 2pm on Saturday 14th September and again at 2pm on Sunday 15th of September.
