NIEA festivals and celebrations are a fun way to satisfy all the senses; from bog snorkelling, treasure trails, theatre, music and local organic food events, to exploring special sites and properties that would normally be closed to the public, enjoy the entertainment and learning experiences for all ages!

International Bog Day and Northern Ireland Bog Snorkelling Championships, Dungannon

A family fun day of activities and entertainment celebrating the beauty of bogs and their conservation with the chance to have a go at Bog Snorkelling, which involves competitors completing two consecutive lengths of a 60 yard (55m) bog drain in the shortest time possible. Why not come along and have a go yourself!

Bark In the Park, Helens Bay, Bangor

Come and celebrate all things dog at our Bark in the Park event. Displays to watch and merchandise to buy, whether you love pure breeds or mutts. Take part in the PDSA Sponsored Dog Walk or enter the Scruffts or novelty dog show. Just say the word... Walkies!

Teddy Bears' Picnic, Helens Bay, Bangor

If you go down to the woods today, you're sure of a big surprise - the Teddy Bears' Picnic at Crawfordsburn! Bring your bear, your family and your picnic and enjoy a day by the sea and the trees with games, stories and activities.

Lughnasa Fair at Carrickfergus Castle, Carrickfergus

Join all the fun of the fair as Carrickfergus celebrates the start of harvest at Lughnasa. Enjoy the entertainments, and meet some of the characters that gather at the Fayre: minstrels, storytellers, craftsmen, soldiers and scoundrels.

Meet the Normans! Is your name Norman (or Norma), if so come along and join lots of other Normans at Carrickfergus Castle including John De Courcy and his men. History comes to life with music, crafts, characters and soldiers. All Normans and Normas, get a reduced admission fee on proof of Norman-ness!

Have-a-Go Day at Crawfordsburn Country Park, Helens Bay, Bangor

Today is the turn of the NI Scout Association to showcase their national activity centre during Love Parks Week. Come and have a go at lots of new activities from abseiling to zip wires. The scout centre has an activity for most letters of the alphabet!
