With the success of TV series’ such as ‘The Fall’ and ‘Game of Thrones’, the world is standing up and taking notice of our amazing natural and man-made landscape.  From our picturesque coastlines to our mountains and glens, Northern Ireland has everything a TV or film producer needs! Have a look at our film events - brand new for this year’s EHOD.

Our picturesque mountains and glens also produce some of the finest ingredients in the world.  Our local produce has made an impact on the food we have grown up eating and the food our visitors experience: locally reared salmon, brewed beers, and locally grown and baked oats and bread to name but a few!  Get your taste buds ready and visit our food events which are also brand new to this year’s programme of events!

The Fall - Talk by Location Manager, Andrew Wilson

 

Andrew Wilson location manager for the popular BBC drama The Fall will be giving a talk and answering your questions from one of the most iconic buildings used in the filming of the hit TV series.

 

Dracula Untold - Talk by Location Manager Catherine Geary

Saturday 13th September

Catherine Geary, the Northern Irish location manager from Donaghadee who has worked on Oscar Nominated, Philomena, James Bond film Skyfall and the country’s largest Feature Film to date, "Dracula Untold" will be giving a talk and answering the many questions we know the public want to know!

Game of Thrones® talk by Location Manager Robbie Boake

One of the most popular TV shows in the world is largely filmed in Northern Ireland, Supervising Location Manager and principle location scout (Northern Ireland) on the series, Robbie Boake will tell us all about it!

BBC's Local People of Ballywalter House - Screening

Friday 12th September

3.30pm and 7.30pm

As part of celebrations to mark BBCNI’s 90th birthday, we will be showing a selection of recordings that make the link between Ballywalter House and BBC television.

BBC’s Changing Story of Belfast City Hall - Screening

Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th September

11am, 12pm, 2pm and 3pm on both days

 

Our short screening will showcase the architecture of City Hall, some of its people and history.

BBC’s Linenhall Library, Cultural life of the City - Screening

Saturday 13th September

1pm

The Library will be screening a special documentary produced by the BBC exploring the Library’s contribution to the cultural life of the city.

BBC’s Betjeman's Belfast, Central Library - Screening

Thursday 11th September

6.30pm

Sir John Betjeman provides an affectionate assessment of Belfast and its architecture in a mid-1970s BBC television programme.

Hastings Hotels and Glenarm Estates will be showcasing some of the finest local produce when Head Chef Sanjay Raghav will create various recipes which will demonstrate the quality and versatility of Glenarm Shorthorn Beef and Glenarm Dorset Pedigree Lamb.

On Sunday 14th September, a talk in the main hotel will cover a brief history of the hotel since its construction in 1897 and the history of Glastry Farm, its products, and the importance of local produce.
