Naughton Gallery at Queen's

The Naughton Gallery is named after its benefactors Martin and Carmel Naughton. The Naughton Gallery features a rolling programme of works from the University's own collection, touring exhibitions and shows by local and international artists. The Naughton Gallery is a registered museum.

The Naughton Gallery presents up to six exhibitions per year and also co-ordinates commissions of new art works for Queen's University. The University's extensive art collection comprises gifts, bequests and purchases since the foundation of Queen's College in 1845. The wide range of works includes paintings, prints, works on paper, sculpture, furniture, metalwork and silver. The collection is on display throughout the University with an impressive hang of over forty portraits in the Great Hall.

The art@queen’s education and outreach initiative began in 2001 with the vision of delivering a workshop programme to art students from non-selecting Belfast schools.

Pupils from primary, secondary and special needs schools, as well as other groups of adults and children, work with the Education and Outreach Officer and professional artists on an extensive range of projects.
Gallery opening hours are Monday to Saturday
11am to 4pm. The Naughton Gallery will be open until 9pm on the first Thursday of every month as part of along with numerous other art galleries in Belfast.
