Newcastle Tennis Club

Established in the 1950s, Newcastle Tennis Club has four polytop all-weather and floodlit courts.

The Pavilion on Bryansford Road includes a club room and facilities for visiting teams all set against the stunning backdrop of the Mourne Mountains.

Our facilities not only allow members to enjoy the sport, but also feel close to nature in this tranquil setting.

Newcastle has competed successfully in the Belfast & District Leagues for many years. Every year we enter several teams at Junior and Senior levels.

Meet new people, enjoy tournaments and social play. Playing with different people throughout the year is an excellent way to have fun, improve your skills and get fit.

New members, both Junior and Senior, are made to feel welcome whatever their level of competence, be it beginner or seasoned player.

The Club operates in partnership with Newry, Mourne & Down District Council and there is reverse “user agreement” whereby the Club has control of court usage with exception of Easter week and from the end June to the end of August when the Council take over the Pavilion and operate the tennis and pitch/putt facility for benefit of visitors, non-members, groups etc.

Council hours are Monday to Saturday 11am to 6pm and Sundays 2pm to 6pm. Whilst these times get priority over Members.
