Chilled Mum

If your mum appreciates scenery and excursions which are unplanned then there is plenty of choice from the Causeway Coastal Route, to the magnificent Mountains of Mourne, or the tranquil Fermanagh Lakelands.  Why not take a picnic and enjoy the scenery or stop in one of the many villages or towns for coffee or lunch.

On the other hand if your mother is interested in historic features why not step back in time with a visit to the Folk and Transport Museum at Cultra, experience life in the early 1900's in the village of Ballycultra town - a great way to spend a day with family. Or spend an afternoon in one of Ireland's finest medieval castles, Carrickfergus Castle. The self-guided tour will take you through 800 years of military might.
