About

Once again awarded a one star in the Michelin Guide for Great Britain & Ireland 2023, OX is one of the prestigious Michelin star restaurants in Northern Ireland and recently won best restaurant (in Northern Ireland) at the National Restaurant Awards 2022. It offers relaxed dining overlooking the River Lagan and is within walking distance of the Belfast Waterfront, St Georges Market and SSE Arena.

Co-owners Alain Kerloc'h and Stephen Toman use a creative approach to seasonality alongside their combined wealth of experience to deliver a top gastronomic experience.

A relaxed space on the banks of the Lagan, OX is a cool and funky restaurant that seats 40, with a plate glass shop front overlooking the water, exposed brick and polished concrete details, as well as an intimate mezzanine area for more secluded dining. Open Tuesday to Saturday for lunch, pre-theatre and dinner service.

OX menus are designed to showcase excellent meats and sustainably sourced fish whilst equally careful attention is given to seasonal vegetables and fruit. Chef owner Stephen Toman’s uniquely enthusiastic approach to seasonal produce and his close relationships with local suppliers means vegetables at OX are no longer considered just a side or a garnish, but as equal partners and occasional stars of the show.

Co-owner Alain Kerloc’h’s extensive experience as sommelier and restaurant manager allows him take an equally creative approach, producing a drinks list that echoes and complements the exciting nature of the food, featuring impressive local microbreweries and interesting wine makers.

Whether you decide to go for our popular 4-10-4 lunch menu, or the OX seasonal tasting menu we are sure there is something to suit, and with a diverse drinks selection offering both affordable quality and high end wines by the glass your perfect dining experience awaits you at OX.
