Paintings by T. P. Flanagan (1929-2011)

03 May - 25 May
The Co. Fermanagh artist T. P. Flanagan was generally considered to be the finest landscapist of his generation working in Ireland. He was also the pre-eminent Irish watercolourist of his time.

This exhibition surveys Flanagan’s career from the late 1940s until the year of his death. Flanagan usually worked in themes, exploring different aspects of his subject matter. Many of these themes, from the Co. Donegal works of the late 1960s, to the many studies of Castle Coole and Lough Erne in his native Fermanagh, and other later works, notably those of the river Lagan near Belfast and the Glens of Antrim, are represented in this show. T. P. Flanagan’s work is widely represented in public and private collections both in Ireland and many other countries.1 gordon gallery is delighted to again show the work of this celebrated artist whose work was first seen by a Gordon in 1946 and who has shown with the gallery over the past six decades. 1 Brian Kennedy, Augst 2012 There will be a fully illustrated catalogue to accompany the exhibition.
