Patrick Bradley

01 October - 23 October
Murmur, at this moment in time, is work in progress, - a tonal autobiographical exploration of life. It promises a collection of visual poems in the form of paintings, sculptures, photographs & sound pieces, informed by the bruised wounded and scarred landscape of a wet, grey, grim, dreary, dismal, depressed and depressing Derry. - Happy it ain’t, - Hey Hey we’re the Monkees, hmmm, I don’t think so… Hopeful, uplifting, optimistic…? …a muted yes. . . gordon gallery is delighted to present this exhibition of new work in the year that Derry celebrates becoming City of Culture. Patrick Bradley was born lives and works in Derry. His methods are organic. In one way the paint is ‘happening’ – in another he manipulates it with considered control, repeatedly adding and subtracting layers until a harmony is achieved. He is reactionary to things that happen as they go along. Every piece emerges from a ‘sounding out’.1 1 Review: Patrick Bradley - ‘CutStRIPs CaBarET’, Josie Muldowney, February 2010 There will be a fully illustrated catalogue to accompany the exhibition.
