A new commission from director Deborah Warner in collaboration with the actor Fiona Shaw and creative producer Artichoke.
Eight murmuring, glowing encampments will appear simultaneously from dusk till dawn at locations that ring the coast of the UK. From Northern Ireland to the tip of Cornwall, from remote Scottish islands to the Sussex cliffs, these artworks are a poignant exploration of love poetry and a celebration of the extraordinary variety and beauty of our coastline.
Deborah Warner is known throughout the world for the grace and beauty of her work, which ranges from the great works of opera and theatre to installations such as The Angel Project, seen in London, New York and Australia. She has frequently collaborated with the actor Fiona Shaw and their production of TS Eliot's The Waste Land has been seen all over the world.
Creative producers Artichoke are best known for bringing Royal de Luxe’s The Sultan’s Elephant to London and for producing Antony Gormley’s 100-day UK-wide project, One & Other.
