Plant & Play Wildlife Garden

Since opening in May 2014 Plant & Play Wildlife Garden, which was once a pile of weeds, mud and rubble, has now been transformed into a working allotment, including a picnic area, living willow dome, bird feeding stations, musical instruments, and raised vegetable beds. All areas are suitable for wheelchair access.

Indoors you can get creative with themed arts and crafts, dance and chase bubbles in the indoor garden or simply relax for a couple of hours with a cup of tea or coffee while the kids are kept busy. Meet Pixi Prickles the hedgehog and learn all about the wildlife that visits the garden.

Each month has a different nature topic to learn about! We also have Science Week once a month where you can try different experiments (age 6-12), this is in addition to the popular seasonal events and animal shows held throughout the year. Sessions book up quickly in advance so why not plan ahead and make sure you have your name down to visit.

Many families have passed through since May 2014, each person planting their own flower or vegetable seeds to take home and grow.

Plant & Play Wildlife Garden has been nominated for, and won a number of different awards including the NI4Kids Visitor Attraction of the Year (Small Category) 2015. All visits must be booked, all opening hours for each month can be found on www.plantandplay.co.uk.
