About

For a fun family day out in Portadown come on down to the People’s Park and discover all of the unique attractions, activities and events on offer!

Following a £5.4 million transformation this Park boasts something for everyone to enjoy, so pack a picnic and take time out to explore all of the fantastic new features.

The state of the art play park features equipment suitable from toddlers to teens! Climb aboard the pirate ship, whizz down the zip line, tackle the pyramid, take off on the swings, dig in the sand pit, race down the slides, go for a spin on the roundabout and so much more! There are also plenty of picnic tables with barbecue facilities.

Enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the stunning themed gardens. With unique features, park benches, surrounded by trees and newly planted shrubs this is a great place for a walk and a sit.

The new pond area, which was once a historic feature of the Park, has been reintroduced to stimulate the Parks biodiversity, whilst creating a setting for educational groups to use, learn from and enjoy. This will include favourite activities such as pond dipping and mini-beast hunting as well as a variety of trails and walks for all to enjoy. Two new bridges have also been introduced with careful consideration made to ensure access for all.

The Park has a wealth of sporting facilities - two grass soccer pitches, one grass multi sports pitch catering for Soccer, American Football, Gaelic Games and Rugby as well as a 7-aside 3G synthetic pitch and a 5-aside multi use games area (MUGA) – both of which are flood lit.

There will be regular events for families in our exclusive amphitheatre so keep an eye on our events section for details!

There is on-site parking for 62 cars as well as on street parking.
