QFT Premier with Metro Fridays

With cinema attendance reaching a 7 year high as consumers seek cheaper forms of entertainment during the financial crisis*, Belfast citizens are set to welcome the ‘premiere’ of new Metro Fridays partner - Queen’s Film Theatre (QFT). Northern Ireland’s foremost independent cinema specialising in new and classic world cinema, QFT is the latest addition to Translink’s Metro Fridays’ initiative, which aims to connect the Belfast public cost-effectively with the City’s Friday night social scene – through discounted fares and entertainment offers.

Now, from 7th August to 30th October, valid Metro Friday ticket-holders will for the first time be able to enjoy £1 off a full price ticket at QFT on Fridays - just in time for the showing of one of the most eagerly awaited movies of 2009, ‘Coco before Chanel’.

The sign-up of QFT to the Metro Fridays’ campaign marks the launch of the third outing of this value-loaded passenger initiative. ‘Metro Fridays 3’ will run from August to October enabling Metro’s some 500,000 weekly users to take advantage of a range of offers including discounts from additional new partners - the Belfast Wheel, Alden’s in the City and Auntie Anne’s.
Offers from old favourites remain including money off at Botanic Inns, The Streat, Hill Street Brasserie, 2Taps, Dantes, Frankie and Bennies, La Tasca, Spur, TGI Fridays, LA Ftiness and Andrew Mulvenna. Cool FM will also be headlining exclusive events at different venues each week.
