For 12 months, the film will follow children growing up in divided societies, developing their sense of identity, and forming relationships with those of a different cultural heritage. One of the many aims of the film is to bring attention to the concept of global citizenship as a tool to pass to the next generation to deal with the challenges of a global future.
Based at The Southbank Playhouse Belfast, just off the Ormeau Road, Bright Young Things gives 3-12 year olds the opportunity to improve their confidence, creativity and communication skills through the medium of play and drama. Shlomi says“ I am interested in observing children from different backgrounds coming together for the first time in a neutral and creative space. Bright Young Things Drama will be a wonderful opportunity for the children of Belfast to explore their similarities and differences under the expert direction of professional actors who will also be best placed to help me to cast the right children in the key roles of the film”.
