Just outside the village of Rostrevor, Co. Down, Lecale Cottages are situated in the foothills of the Mourne Mountains. With fantastic views across the mountains and down to Carlingford Lough, the self-catering accommodation is suitable for those looking for a relaxing break, or for families looking for somewhere to let their kids explore the outdoors.

Our clean and cosy three bedroom cottages, sleep up to 6 people. A combined kitchen/living area, with an open log-fire, is perfect for family get-togethers, or somewhere to relax with your friends after a long day walking or mountain-biking in the Mournes. There is a separate bathroom, WC, and shower room, so no need to worry about queues! The cottages have all mod-cons, including washer/dryer, and a dishwasher. Oil-fired central heating is included in the price. We can provide cots and highchairs if needed.

The “Ceili House” has a large living/dining room with a Liscannor stone floor, suitable for entertaining larger groups. There is a separate fully equipped kitchen. Please request further information, as the accommodation may not be suitable for toddlers. A marquee is available for rent, and has been used for several weddings held at Lecale Cottages.

On site, there is also plenty to do. We have a children’s playground, and the tennis court is always popular for those wanting to show off their competitive side. For somewhere to get away for a picnic or to get closer to nature, we have a 1.5km riverside/farm trail. This brings you right around the farm on which Lecale Cottages are situated, and runs along the Yellow Water River.

If you are looking to explore Ireland, Rostrevor is the perfect place to base yourself. Belfast can be reached within an hour, whilst Dublin is only 90 minutes away. We will be happy to help you with your travel plans. The local area is brimming with places to see and discover, from the colours of the trees in Kilbroney Forest Park through to the magnificent views from Cloc Mor. If you are keen on some shopping, the local town of Newry is rarely out of the news these days as a great place to go, whilst The Outlet in Banbridge offers big savings on well-known brands.
