St Lucia Day

24 May
St. Lucia Day
2.00pm – 4.00pm
An event organised by The Inniskillings Museum.
The regiment was dispatched to the island of St. Lucia in 1796, as part of the wars against France, and it was here that it distinguished itself in the storming of the French fortress of Morne Fortune. In recognition of its gallantry the regiment was allowed the unique honour of flying the regimental flag above the fortress for one hour. St. Lucia became one of the regiment’s most important battle honours, and St. Lucia Day is still commemorated every year by the Inniskillings.

All welcome.
