The Great Room Restaurant at The Merchant Hotel

About

The Great Room Restaurant is truly the jewel in the crown of the hotel. A sumptuous space evoking effortless and timeless grandeur, situated in the former main Banking Hall of the building. A more fitting setting for the gastronomic delights prepared daily for discerning guests could not be imagined.

The food in The Great Room Restaurant is inspired by the classics, yet allows the excellence of each individual ingredient to shine through. One can taste the subtle flavours of each component, each element complementing one another perfectly.

This is a showcase for food as it should be, using the best of local produce. Enhancing the stunning food experience is a wine list which endeavours to remain unsurpassed in Ireland. It has been carefully constructed and changes regularly to reflect the flavours of the season, the best new wines and classic vintages.

This graceful experience would not be complete without the careful attention and professional service of our highly trained staff. Open daily for Breakfast, Lunch, Traditional Afternoon Tea (accompanied by live piano on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays) and sumptuous à la Carte Dining.

Traditional Afternoon Teas
The Merchant Hotel is justifiably proud of re-introducing traditional afternoon teas in all their glory, to the city of Belfast. All afternoon teas at The Merchant Hotel are served in the traditional manner, with a selection of finger sandwiches, delicate pastries and scones with clotted cream, all gracing a silver tea stand. This is complemented with tea, coffee and maybe some Champagne. Afternoon Tea at The Merchant Hotel is served Daily from 12;00 - 16:30 and is accompanied by live piano on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
