‘The Life of the Lough’®
An Environmental Photographic Exhibition by Bernie Brown, ARPS
Environmental photographer Bernie Brown ARPS will exhibit her evolving and striking collection of ‘life-images’ of Strangford Lough at Belfast's Linen Hall Library. Captured over many months, the exhibition entitled 'The Life of the Lough' cameos the colourful characters and stunning surrounds of this picturesque corner of Northern Ireland.
Brown started out as a newspaper photographer and eventually gravitated towards environmental imagery. Her work is in demand internationally with admirers such as former US President Bill Clinton having one of her pictures in his private collection.
The stillness of a morning sunrise, the ballet of a flock of geese in flight, the wizened face of an old timer, in The Life of the Lough Bernie captures the day-to-day, the drama and the ever-changing backdrop of one of Northern Ireland’s most scenic areas.
Bernie says: “My desire is to capture those special moments and to share them by bringing nature and its beauty into people’s lives.”
Deborah Douglas, Linen Hall Programme Manager, says; “The Life of The Lough is part of the Library’s commitment to recognizing, supporting and promoting local talent. Bernie Brown’s exhibition has travelled around Northern Ireland and America and we look forward to bringing this special collection to the people of Belfast.”
The Life of the Lough is a free exhibition and runs from Tuesday 1 May – Saturday 30 June.
