The Mill at Balloo

The Mill at Balloo was originally a corn mill in existence from 1805. Recently converted into a superb dwelling, the mill offers two spacious bedrooms each with its own entrance from outside. One contains original beams and a dressing room with ensuite, the other also has ensuite and is adjoined to a garden room beside the river. The Beam Room offers two King size beds, whilst the River Room bedroom has a King size and single bed. Both bedrooms have flat screen televisions, wi-fi connection, hairdryer, and facilities for making tea or coffee. Breakfast is served with local produce in the dining room beside the original wheel. The Mill is within walking distance of the award-winning Balloo House restaurant; we will be happy to drive you there, it's a short walk back to the comfort of your luxury bedroom. Strangford Lough is easily accessible, with Castle Ward, Scrabo Country Park, Nendrum Monastic Site, Mahee Golf Club, and Castle Espie all a short drive away. The Mill at Balloo has also recently hosted two brides who stayed with us the night before their wedding, one at Ballydugan Mill, the other at the Temple of the Winds at Mount Stewart. Other guests have been attending weddings, helping their daughter settle into university accommodation, or dancing the night away at Killyleagh's legendary Chocolate Ball. Most have desired to sample Danny Millar's culinary delights at Balloo House.
