The Organic Centre

Take a wander around our beautiful organic gardens and polytunnels situated on our peaceful and idyllic 19 acre site near Rossinver.

As you move around the site there is plenty to delight and inspire you. Our 9 polytunnels are perhaps the best assembled example of protected cropping tunnels in the country. We have all manner of crops on display from a huge variety of different salads and tomatoes, to garlic, early potatoes, courgettes, cucumbers and pumpkins. Examples of unusual varieties abound and there will always be a friendly member of staff, volunteer, student or placement around to answer your questions or simply pause for a chat. Much of the produce is for sale in our eco shop at the Centre – so you can take your organic goodies home with you!

There are lots of examples of outdoor growing too – the Kitchen Garden illustrates the 4-bed organic rotation and our orchard includes over 50 varieties of fruit trees chosen for their suitability to the Irish climate – including apples, pears and damsons.

We would also love to see you at one of our special public event days during the year – Potato Day in spring, Garden Party in summer and Harvest Festival in the autumn.

We now also run a number of days in partnership with our thriving community garden project – including Gardeners’ Day around Easter when the first flush of vegetable transplants are available for sale.
