Ti Chulainn Cultural, Events and Accommodation Centre

Tí Chulainn includes the Tí Chulainn Centre and Slieve Gullion Lodge, situated at the foot of the beautiful Slieve Gullion Mountain in Mullaghbane, rural South Armagh.


This tranquil setting is easily accessible from main roads, yet provides the visitor with access to an area officially marked as 'An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'. All the attractions of South Armagh and North Louth are right on our doorstep. Slieve Gullion Lodge offers Hotel Style accommodation at Hostel prices. All rooms are en-suite and on the ground floor, and there is a communal reading and TV room for your enjoyment. All linen and towels are included. Our room layout means we can cater for couples, families and groups - and provide everything you need to enjoy the locality. Guests can choose the self catering option or let us know and we can provide all meals and packed lunches, and we can tailor these to your dietary needs. There is a cosy bar on site, which can be made available to groups as needed, and local country pubs, shops, and take-away restaurants are a short stroll away.

Local attractions include hiking, cycling, angling, horse riding, golf, spas, karting, greyhound and horse racing - along with spectacular scenery. The area is steeped in Irish mythical, historical, political, and cultural history and a number of tours available on request. The area is ideal for walking or cycling and a number of established routes run past Ti Chulainn including ‘The Ring of Gullion Way’ and ‘The Poets Trail’.

Tí Chulainn hosts weddings, conferences, exhibitions, and meetings. The award winning centre has meeting facilities for up to 50 people,  a multipurpose foyer area, and a large hall with a 300 person capacity as well as a licensed bar. There is a theatre style audiovisual room, capacity for 80 people, and access to DVD, broadband, and satellite TV.

The Tí Chulainn Centre also houses the Cuimhneamh Living History Project, which details the memories and recollections of people from across Armagh and Louth during the troubles. In addition to this the centre also houses the South Armagh Genealogy Project, with census, parish and local register details to help people research their family history.
