Number 5 at Tory Bush Cottages, “Slievenabrock”, meaning ‘Hill of the Badger’ is the lower half of a traditional Barn Building, In this ground floor apartment there is a large sitting room with an open fireplace to the left of which is the kitchen with all modern appliances. Opening of the sitting room there is a patio area with barbecue and picnic bench.
Slievenabrock has two large bedrooms, sleeping a maximum of 4 persons, with the flexibility to use the beds as twin singles or as doubles. One bedroom has an en-suite shower-room; the other has a wash hand-basin. Of the corridor there is a bathroom with toilet and wash-hand-basin.
Being entirely on the ground floor the apartment is ideally suited to families with young children, the patio door opens out on to an exclusive, private and secure garden. It also suits anyone who can’t manage stairs or indeed uses a wheelchair.
Part of the kitchen work surface has been lowered with open access underneath to facilitate a wheel-chair user and the en-suite shower-room has full disabled accessibility This garden is also accessible by wheelchair users by using the main door and sloping path along side of house, indeed the picnic bench has a recess to facilitate a wheelchair.
Slievenaglogh is fully WiFi enabled, has Freesat TV, - there are bicycles for hire on site and storage and wash facilities for your own bike. Walkers can reach the mountains from the cottages using our own path and quiet country road or take advantage of the drop off local Shuttle bus service that operates in the Mourne area.
Tory Bush Cottages are an ideal base for exploring Northern Ireland, Belfast and the Titanic Centre is an hour away and the Giants Causeway two hours. There is lots to see and do in the local area from the new Castlewellan purpose built bike and walking trails, Murlough Beach and nature reserve, and the nearby seaside town of Newcastle with its award winning promenade, cafes, restaurants and welcoming gastro pubs.

In 2015 Tory Bush Cottages were awarded a Gold Award in the Green Tourism Business Scheme.
